Collision sends one person to hospital Thursday morning in west Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A two-vehicle collision on Thursday morning sent one person to the hospital and slowed traffic in front of a fast-food restaurant on the city’s west side.

The crash was reported at 7:57 a.m. just east of S.W. 6th Avenue and MacVicar, in front of the Hardee’s restaurant.

A silver Toyota Yaris and a black Hyundai Veloster collided in the westbound lanes in the 2400 block of S.W. 6th Avenue.

One person from the Toyota was taken to a local hospital, police said at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Traffic was allowed to proceed through the area in the right westbound lane of S.W. 6th Avenue.

Both lanes of eastbound S.W. 6th Avenue were open to traffic.
