TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Topeka Police Department has taken two suspects in for questioning following a stolen vehicle chase Wednesday night.

Officers found a stolen vehicle just after 7 p.m. near SW 6th and Fairlawn. TPD said during their investigation they tracked down two suspects connected to the stolen vehicle walking in the 4300 block of SW 6th Ave.

Police said both suspects tried to run from officers, but one was immediately captured.

The Kansas Highway Patrol and Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office assisted in blocking off the area, so the second suspect would not getaway. That person was later found hiding in a residential area and both were taken in for questioning.

No further details have been released. We will post updates as they become available.
