One taken to hospital after three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in south Topeka
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - One person was taken to a local hospital following a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning at a busy intersection in south Topeka.
The crash was reported around 8:25 a.m. at 37th and S. Kansas Avenue.
Police at the scene told 13 NEWS that a white Hyundai Santa Fe and a gray Kia Soul collided at the intersection.
Following the impact, the Kia collided with a Chevrolet Equinox that was headed west on 37th, just east of Kansas Avenue.
The Hyundai came to rest facing northeast at the northeast corner of the intersection.
The Kia came to rest with its front end facing east against the front of the Chevrolet, which was in the left westbound lane of 37th, immediately east of Kansas Avenue.
One person was transported by American Medical Response ambulance to a local hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, police said at the scene.
While crews were responding to the scene, traffic was proceeding through the area in both east- and westbound lanes of 37th Street and also on southbound Kansas Avenue.
Northbound traffic on Kansas Avenue was diverted onto 37th Street.
